Register new data for SDI workflows

In order to be transferable into components and workflows from the Spatial Data Infrastructure (SDI) all new data must be registered.

The SDI does not provide storage for data dumping and should only be used for processed data and reasonable intermediate products!

Which data can be registered?

In general all data can be registered. Note that not all workflows work for all data types.

Data means a secluded and thematically related collection of data files. These do not need to be from the same project but should be connected thematically/methodologically.

How to apply?

To apply for new data to be registered, contact the administrators of RDM (rdm-contact@ufz.de) and add the keyword "SDI" in the subject section.

The mail must contain the following:

  • How much initial storage is needed? (Storage can be extended later and should start as small as possible)
  • Who needs access to upload data to the storage?
  • Who should have access to download data from the storage?
  • Should the metadata be available in GeoNetwork? Who should have download access to the metadata?
  • Should the data be available via web services (GeoServer or THREDDS server)? Who should have access to the service?
  • Do you need a WebGIS?

If you need a WebGIS for your data, the administrators will contact you on the details.

After the administrators received your email, they will evaluate your request and come back to you as soon as possible.
