7. Web Map Viewer¶

Due to the built-in map viewer, GeoNetwork is able to directly display resources associated to metadata records. The map viewer can be opened by selecting the respective header button (globe symbol; 24)

Within the map viewer a diverse range of options is available, subdivided in map content on the one hand and style on the other

7.1 Overview of Map Viewer Features¶

Map Content Management¶

The following options are available to manage a maps content:

Add layers
(Manage) Layers
(Show) Legend
Filter data7
Use a WPS process7
(Load / save) Maps
Print (Map) 7
Measure (distance / area)
(Create) Annotations (as objects)
Synchronize all Layers (or only background layers) between map viewer and search overview map7

Display Options¶

In order to change display settings there are the following options available:

Zoom in
Zoom out
Zoom to initial map extent
Switch from 2D to 3D7
(Insert) Graticule
